As the curtains closed on the National Science Week, Friday, August 4th marked an exceptional conclusion to a week dedicated to innovation and the celebration of science. The event culminated in a remarkable visit to the CSIR center in Pretoria, where a group of bright minds from our Grade 11 learners, who had previously participated in the April competition, joined forces with Grade 10 Science enthusiasts for an unforgettable experience.
With the guidance of Mr. Asumani, Dube Phumzile, Ipeleng Mashilo, and Nkuna Ntsako, the talented Grade 11 learners who had participated in the earlier competition, led the charge. Accompanied by the eager Grade 10 learners Kale Sharron Ledile, Motopi Lehlogonolo, and Jackson Jr. Matabola, the group ventured back to the CSIR center for an engaging day of interaction and inspiration. The learners were privileged to interact with esteemed professors and accomplished doctors in the field, gaining invaluable insights into the world of science and its myriad applications.
This year's National Science Week, taking place from July 31st to August 5th, 2023, has been an extraordinary event in the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Innovation (STEMI). Among the various celebrations, one standout occasion was hosted by Moipone Academy at the Rabasotho Community Hall. Empowering Tembisa's Innovative Minds
Earlier this year, on the 20th of April 2023, a remarkable event unfolded at the CSIR - Council for Scientific and Industrial Research centre in Pretoria, one that filled our hearts with immense pride and joy. A group of five exceptionally talented Grade 11 learners, Ntando Mukwananzi, Ipeleng Mashilo, Faresa Munyai, Ntsako Nkuna, Phumzile Dube, from Child Academy Pro, participated in the prestigious Nanotechnology Competition, accompanied and mentored by CAP Teacher Mr. Asumani, showcasing their ingenuity and dedication to the scientific realm. We are elated to announce that these young minds not only represented Child Academy Pro, but also the entire Tembisa community with distinction, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
We are thrilled to share the incredible experience our Grade 10, 11 and 12 learners had on Friday, 21st July 2023, during our Science trip to the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre. Throughout the day, the learners were treated to a wide array of hands-on experiences, interactive exhibits, and mind-boggling demonstrations.
The immersive experience provided by the centre served as a catalyst, igniting a passion for science among our learners and motivating them to strive for greatness in this field.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated teachers who meticulously organized this trip. Their effort and commitment to providing our students with such enriching experiences are commendable, and it is evident in the spark we witnessed in our learners' eyes.
We would also like to thank all the parents for allowing their children to participate in this educational adventure. Your support in encouraging and nurturing your children's interests in science plays a vital role in shaping their academic and personal growth.
We believe that Friday's visit to the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre marks a pivotal moment in our learners' educational journey. The experience has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on their minds, and we look forward to seeing how they harness this newfound inspiration to achieve greatness in the field of science.
We are pleased to inform you that the camp will take place as from the 25th June to the 14th of July 2022. As a school we feel that this program is an essential and invaluable exercise in preparing our grade 12's thoroughly for the final examinations. During this winter school program, educators will spend the time on subject specific problem areas including guidance on the interpretation and manipulation of examination question papers.
This is deemed as an excellent way for your child to sharpen his or her examination techniques and to improve possible chances of attaining higher symbols in the final exam
It is within our sincere hope that you will find such efforts necessary to achieve the best results for our children.
We are therefore looking forward to your support and working together to better the future of our learners.
NB: The target pass rate for the class of 2023 is 100%
Count down to our 2023 final exams..
